Description
Learn how to make delicious ground beef meatballs. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or substitute with crushed crackers)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (optional, for serving)
Feel free to swap out the ground beef for turkey or chicken if that’s what you have on hand. And if you’re looking to sneak in some veggies, finely chopped spinach or grated zucchini blends in beautifully.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Using a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop, portion out the mixture and roll it into balls. Place each meatball on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the meatballs with olive oil to help them brown beautifully in the oven.
- Bake the meatballs for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the tops are golden brown.
- For added flavor, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat and serve it alongside the meatballs.
A little tip: If you find the mixture sticking to your hands, wet them lightly with water to help form the meatballs more easily.
