Description
Learn how to make delicious ground beef nachos. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)
- 1 small red onion, diced
- 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges for serving
Substitution Suggestions: For a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef with plant-based crumbles. If you’re looking to add more heat, consider adding some sliced pickled jalapeños.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water to the beef. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef over the chips, followed by black beans, corn, and diced red onion.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and top with jalapeño slices, diced tomatoes, and cilantro.
- Serve the nachos warm with dollops of sour cream and lime wedges on the side.
Personal Tip: To ensure even melting, make sure the cheese is spread out in a single layer. This way, every bite is perfectly cheesy!
