Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces of kalbasa, sliced into thin rounds
- 12 ounces of your favorite pasta (penne, fusilli, or rigatoni work well)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or substitute with half-and-half for a lighter option)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sauté the kalbasa slices until they are golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, approximately 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and red bell pepper, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until the bell pepper is tender.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine with the vegetables. Let the mixture simmer for about 3 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Return the kalbasa to the skillet and add the drained pasta. Toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the creamy sauce.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy the warmth and love in every bite!
