Description
Learn how to make delicious Marry Me Shrimps Recipe. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
Feel free to substitute the heavy cream with coconut milk for a lighter, dairy-free version. If sun-dried tomatoes aren’t available, cherry tomatoes make a great alternative, adding a burst of freshness to the dish.
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. This step always reminds me of family dinners where the smell of garlic meant delicious things were coming.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any bits stuck to the pan. Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and let them simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and slowly add the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let the sauce thicken slightly, around 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. This is where the magic happens, creating a creamy, cheesy delight.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, gently tossing them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to ensure everything is well coated and heated through.
- Finish with a sprinkle of fresh basil and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little kick, if desired. Serve immediately.
